§ 13-17. Methods of enforcement: injunction; code enforcement.

  • (a) The specific penalties and enforcement mechanisms contained within this article are not exclusive remedies and shall not be construed as prohibiting the city from seeking other fines and other remedies authorized by city, state, or common law, either exclusively or simultaneously.
    (b) Any person subject to and who fails to secure a Certificate of Use and Occupancy and Business Tax Receipt required by this chapter or any other ordinance of the city or law of the State of Florida, shall upon petition by the city be enjoined by the circuit court from engaging in the business in which he has failed to secure said Certificate of Use and Occupancy and Business Tax Receipt, until such time as he shall secure same, including all costs of such action.
    (c) The city may bring any violation of this chapter as a City Code violation pursuant to Section 2-91 of the City Code to the Code Enforcement Board or Special Magistrate.
